Have you gotten off Windows 7?

Eleven years ago, we witnessed the debut of Windows 7, and now it has finally reached its end of life. The operating system will no longer receive security updates from Microsoft, and it’s time to say a fond farewell and upgrade to Windows 10. So, where are the healthcare providers during this journey? The system migration is an extremely complex situation where it is not about just upgrading the operating system. A typical health system between $2-$10B gross revenue has approximately 600–1000+ applications in their portfolio. The upgrade of the operating system is the easy part. The main challenges are the following two reasons:

1 — Testing is a very long process for organizations with a resource constraint.

2 — Healthcare enterprise applications, along with medical devices are built on a legacy platform that may not support windows 10.
